MISSION
The Interuniversity Research Center Scienza Nuova “Umberto Eco” was established to question the present and to imagine the future of knowledge in a world profoundly shaped by digital technologies. Founded in 2019 and renewed in 2023, the Center serves as a space for advanced research devoted to the encounter of diverse forms of knowledge, languages, and disciplinary perspectives.
Scienza Nuova Institute explores the relationship between digital technologies and the humanities as a privileged field for understanding the cultural, social, and epistemic transformations of our time. Through a critical and interdisciplinary approach, the Center promotes research, advanced training, and the circulation of ideas, fostering a dialogue between humanistic traditions and technological innovation.
The Center positions itself as a laboratory of thought and experimentation, open to the academic community and to society at large, with the aim of developing new interpretative frameworks and new forms of cultural responsibility in the digital age.
